"I aim to bring the dying craft of wood carving together with art in modern lines by using traditional tools and hand carving techniques inherited from ancestors as a principle, and to keep it alive in the future by teaching the intricacies of the work to those who are interested."

About Yelim Özdinç
Yelim Özdinç was born in 1977, and introduced to art with the encouragement of her family during her college education. Besides her professional ballet career, as an English Business Administration graduate, she gained many years of experience in the business world, but the artistic spirit within her never faded.
During her modern art journey, she had the chance to explore different aspects of art - like drawing and oil painting from calligraphy artist Osman Yılmazer, sculpting from artist Sevgi Karay and creating design and installations from an award-winning designer Deniz Coşkun.
Her encounter with wood during her modern sculpting education, was a turning point for her. During her classical art journey, she then had the opportunity to meet and learned the ancient techniques of wood carving from precious craftsmen Galip Ağırkaya and Vugar Mammadov. Still performing her art in Istanbul, she presents her works to art lovers in national and international exhibitions, using the ancestral hand carving technique in modern forms. She is also determined to pass on this unique craft to new generations by organizing workshops both in overseas and Turkey.
